Day 18 & 19 - May 19th turn in the boat and ferry to St. Thomas & 20th in St. Thomas

Look closely and you can see our route color coded by day.

This is the "Fast Ferry" we took to St. Thomas, US Virgin IslandsThe ferry dock in St. Thomas.  The tall building is a Holiday Inn.

This is a "dollar taxi".  They always cost us $2.  They are privately owned and run continuously from 5AM til Midnight.  You flag one down and ride till you want to get off.

Iguanas were plentiful and of course they were begging food all the time.
The view from our balcony.  The cruise ship was there on Saturday and everything was crowded. The view from our front door.
Since the town was so crowded, we went the other direction and ended up at a beach resortThis is the Sapphire Beach Resort, an all inclusive resort where there was no need for the guests to go anyplace else.
They had their own beaches, restaurants, bars etc. This would be the best way to visit St. Thomas
On Sunday, we went down town.We finally found something open and had breakfast.  The walls along this walkway were really old rock walls and there were several shops.  Most of the shops were closed because there was not a cruise ship in port.  We saved lots of money.
Some of the island architecture.View of the bay at night.
